One of the main objectives of this initiative is the mapping of centres of excellence in specific micro and nano manufacturing technologies and forming of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) based on industrial sectors and regional priorities.

These will be further developed into dynamic clusters of industrial experts and researchers in particular areas of strategic development. The clusters will support the formulation and execution of short to mid term EU research agenda in micro- and nano- manufacturing.

The clusters of industrial experts and researchers will also offer specialised knowledge and advice to industry in different priority areas of technology adoption and fast implementation of the latest R&D results into production.
